Vegetables are very commonto our din table , but very rare in the history of Chinese painting . It is an honor to join you today to appreciate the beauty of vegetables and fruit by famous painters .

Sometimes, we quiet down and think about life; and now, you can calm down and savor the beauty in this painting, just like you can enjoy only the food you like. And today, I believe it will  Let you taste a different life!

The fruits and vegetables in Qi Baishi's works are mouth-watering!  Among Qi Baishi's many painting themes, fruit and vegetable works can most touch the homesickness of the elderly.

He endowed these daily necessities with profound spiritual connotations, surpassing the content and form of painting.

Qi Baishi's favorite fruits and vegetables are all things he has cultivated from snacks,

and binds his childhood memories and homesickness thoughts together.

The Chinese regard pomegranate as a mascot, which is a symbol of the prosperity of the family and the wealth of children.

There is a piece of "Pomegranate" painted by Qi Baishi in 1922 in the collection of Beijing Art Academy.

This is the third year he has settled in Beijing.  The longing for his hometown and the nostalgia for his relatives linger in his mind all the time, and he still remembers the fruits and vegetables that used to sustain himself and his family's livelihood-"The one who fills his belly wins half a year's food, and those who have aspirations do not forget their fragrance" and "Satisfaction."  Knowing the taste of the world, you feel that the roots of vegetables are fragrant."

Compared with the three major painting disciplines of traditional Chinese paintings of figures, landscapes, and flowers and birds, the subject of vegetables and fruits is often incorporated into flowers and birds, becoming the subject matter of flower and bird painting.

The things depicted in the fruit and vegetable works are common foods that we often see in our daily lives. Although the subject matter is common, the meaning is equally profound.

Vegetables and fruits, with their rich and varied shapes and varied colors, give people a refreshing and pleasing visual enjoyment.

The Qingteng Baiyang in the Ming Dynasty, Qi Baishi and Zhang Daqian in modern times are all masters of painting fruits and vegetables, and they have left many classic works.

Among Qi Baishi's many painting subjects, vegetable works are the one that touches the homesickness of old people the most.

He puts these daily objects on deep spiritual connotations, and transcends the content and form of painting.

The old man Baishi often paints grapes. There are many grape seeds,

which means "too many children, more blessings".  Between the rattan and ink leaves, the crystal clear, like a string of purple pearls,

presents exuberant vitality and creates a clear and optimistic tone of the picture.

The reason why Qi Baishi's works are touching and both refined and popular are appreciated because of

his extreme love for life and the true feelings in his works.  This is particularly prominent in vegetable works.

In the early summer, the old man brought a plate of cherries and sat under the grape racks in his courtyard to taste the delicacy.

Satisfied with the meal, there are a few left, and they are placed on the table outside, lifted the curtain, and entered the house.

I was about to pick up a pen to draw something, and looked outside, Yo, a little bird was standing on the plate, about to steal one.

it is good!  Just draw this scene, how interesting!  Time can pass, but the scenes and moods of the solidified brushes have been left behind, giving people an aftertaste!

The lychee is included in the painting, taking its homophony, with auspicious meanings such as "auspicious", "great profit" and "doli".

The old man Baishi had a special liking for lychees during his lifetime,

and his love for lychees can also be confirmed by his paintings.

Loofah, miss and care.In ancient times, it is usually the meaning of Fu Lu, with a homophonic sound.

Because loofah is a plant in the Cucurbitaceae family, both gourd and loofah have the meaning of Fu Lu.

Nowadays, loofah is also used to express longing and worry,

and it is also homophonic, thinking about hanging.

When Qi Baishi painted peaches, he first wrote the huge peaches directly with magenta in the freehand style without bones,

infiltrated with a little lemon yellow, and then wrote the leaves and branches with cyan and ocher ink,

and then used thick ink to outline the leaf tendons, and the color was strong.  Showy.

It contrasts strongly with the red flowers and ink leaves created by painting lotus.

Taozi, who is bound to have a long life in China, usually blesses the birthday of the elderly,

and will make peach cakes to celebrate,

and also expresses the blessings for him to live longer.

Persimmon,Here is the meaning of expressing all the best."Persimmon" and "things" are homophonic, so it is used to imply "everything is right."

Fresh persimmons also mean great profit. Qi Baishi's persimmon pictures are rich in content, delicate in composition, fresh and beautiful.

Therefore, the old man Shiraishi often uses persimmon as the theme for his creation.  Borrowing objects to send blessings and sending objects chanting words are often used by Old Shiraishi, and he once described himself as Mr. Shiyuan.

Among Qi Baishi's many painting themes, the fruits and vegetables are the most touching.

It can be seen from this that he has an incomparable love for life, and his true feelings are placed in his works.

Therefore, the melons, fruits, pears and peaches drawn are like common people's homes, bowls, and mouths.

They are approachable and intriguing!  The reason why such works are touching and both refined and popular are appreciated because the old man Baishi puts sincere emotions on these daily objects,

endowed them with spiritual connotation, and surpassed the content and form of painting.

Bamboo shoots are a traditional Chinese delicacy, with a fragrant, crispy taste and a long history of eating and cultivation.

They have always been regarded as "treasures in dishes".  Qi Baishi once wrote in his famous painting "Cabbage Winter Bamboo Shoots": Zeng Wenzheng Gongyun: Duck soup boiled with radish and cabbage is far better than the twenty-four flavors of Manchu banquets.

Yu Wei Wen Zhenggong's words are still rich and noble, not as good as winter bamboo shoots fried cabbage, without other tastes, the Man-Han banquet is really inferior.

As a professional painter with great interest in life, the gourd-themed paintings are the same as Qi Baishi's other paintings.

They are full of wit and taste.  Although many gourd paintings have many similarities in composition and techniques,

Qi Baishi is good at writing poems or short sentences in his paintings to increase his cultural added value,

making the seemingly identical gourd paintings come alive and giving them different  visual impact.

Qi Baishi, who lives in his hometown, has a hard life and is often burdened by his livelihood.

Although Diande "borrowed the mountain hall" at the age of thirty-eight, his life has changed slightly, but he still hasn't separated from the farm life.

He grows melons, fruits, vegetables and vegetables around Jishan Pavilion and leads a self-sufficient country life.

For him, despite his poor life in this period, the farming customs of "the gardens are full of vegetables around the door,

and every family knows the fragrance of vegetables" is a lingering historical memory after he left his hometown.

Not only eating, Qi Baishi often served these vegetables and fruits.

In his later years, he would wake up every day before dawn and go to his own vegetable garden to weed and fertilize grapes, loofah, peanuts and other fruits as a kind of exercise.

The method of the body has persisted for many years.  Combining diet, exercise, health preservation and art, the old man Shiraishi can do four things with one stone!

"Innocent Family" is a commonly used title for Qi Baishi's painting of cabbage.  Qi Baishi was born in a poor family of "bran cabbage for half a year". He regarded cabbage alone as the king of dishes. He never forgets that "three generations of ancestors bite its roots".

I like to paint cabbage all my life, and I am proud of the "vegetable and bamboo shoots" in my pictures.  With his rich experience, the old man persuades his younger generations to have a simple and honest value orientation.

As one of the top 10 painters of the 20th century, Qi Baishi was exquisite with flowers, birds, insects, fish, figures, and landscapes. Among them, his works of vegetables and fruits touched the homesickness of the elderly the most.

Qi Baishi chose the most popular fruits and vegetables as his sympathy, which was of typical significance in a society that had not yet reached enough food and clothing at that time.

The farm’s main food, its planting, harvesting and processing were all important components in Qi Baishi’s life.  Part, and there has never been any painter in history with Qi Baishi's rare enthusiasm for expressing the real world.

His pictures of melons and fruits are numerous and precise, and each one is commendable and full of natural flavor.

He puts these things he sees in daily life with deep spiritual connotation, which transcends the content and form of painting.

The vitality of the pumpkin painted by Qi Baishi is very strong.

In the scorching summer, the pumpkin still grows tenaciously against the sun.

Of course, I think this is the only way to have such an orange pumpkin color, which is very useful in painting.

Qi Baishi's paintings are agile and interesting, thanks to his intricate observation of life and his seeking truth from facts when he paints.

He never draws things he hasn't seen before, everything is real.

Qi Baishi uses the most everyday themes to create, simple, natural, and plain, full of his simple and strong love for life.

The respect for the ordinary and the deep love for reality make Qi Baishi's artistic creation colorful and harmonious.

At the same time, it also infects the people who watch his works, and preserves the beauty and innocence for us who live in a busy life.
